The Palace Theater is offering inclusive acting classes!

From The Palace Theater:

“Thanks to a generous grant from the Borick Foundation, we are able to offer THREE classes this year to special needs students. All classes are free, but space is limited.
Exceptional Actors Writing and Performing Camp (6th-8th grade)
October 13th-December 15th
Beginning Acting and Performance- Acting with Autism (3rd-5th grade)
January 5th-March 1st
Exceptional Acting- Musical Theatre and Performance (4th-8th grade)
March 22nd-May 17th

Fall Coffee Talk Series!

Exceptional Georgetown Alliance is hosting a Coffee Talk!  We will have therapists from the community in to talk about their specialty and how it can impact your child. Speakers include: Kim Shewmaker from Kidabilities, Anna Chmiel and Jennifer Coyle of Mighty Kids Therapy (formerly Big Sky Pediatrics North Star), and Emily Morris of the Center for Music Therapy. Please join us for coffee, light food, and good conversation!

Adaptive Swimming Lessons

EGA is excited to partner with Friends of Parks for free swimming lessons at River Ridge pool beginning in July! Instructors will be there to teach the kiddos to swim. Children will likely be grouped by age. It is open to any child with special needs who wants to learn/improve their swimming skills. There are some stipulations, so please let us know if you are interested. exceptionalgeorgetown@gmail.com

Bowling Party at Mel’s

We will have our end of school year/end of season bowling party at Mel’s at 1 pm on Saturday, May 30th. This event is open to any kiddos with special needs. Even if you haven’t participated with the teams, you can come to the party!! There will be pizza, drink, shoes and a free game of bowling courtesy of the Chisholm Trail Elks. Home at City Lights!

The next sensory movie showing will be Dreamwork’s “Home,” on Saturday, April 18 at 10 am at City Lights Georgetown. Special discounted cost is $3.50 and adult caregiver gets in free and is required. Sensory movies accommodate for neurological disorders by adjusting sound, raising lighting, and relaxing traditional movie rules. Thanks City Lights for making this possible.
