What Has EGA Done For You?

Amplify Austin

Our community is a diverse population with many different needs.  Several of us have family members with special needs.  Do you know anyone who has participated in one of our adaptive sports teams or summer camps?  Odds are you have a neighbor, child, or friend who has.

This year Exceptional Georgetown Alliance (EGA) is participating in Amplify Austin’s “I live here, I give here” campaign.  We support the special needs community in Georgetown by creating opportunities for our special needs students to play and learn.  EGA is able to provide these opportunities through grants and generous donations from people like you.

Please watch this video of a father who has participated in our adaptive basketball program and then schedule your donation today.  Whether it’s $20 or $200, every amount counts!

Thank you and remember to like, share, and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

Amplify Austin!

Amplify Austin

Exceptional Georgetown Alliance is very excited to announce that we are participating in this year’s Amplify Austin “I live here, I give here” event happening March 8th.  Every year, one day is set aside to give locally to impact our community.  We are asking for your support.

Since 2008, Exceptional Georgetown Alliance has provided opportunities for special needs students to play adaptive sports, attend summer camps, take swim lessons, and promoted like-minded events. These opportunities would not exist without Exceptional Georgetown Alliance, a non-profit run by volunteers.  We raise funds and awareness through our annual 5k, the Boo Run but the needs for our participants continue to grow.

For Amplify Austin our goal is to raise $1000 which will go to scholarships for our adaptive camps and help purchase new equipment for our adaptive sports teams, equipment that hasn’t been repaired or replaced for several years.  Every amount counts. Whether you can give $20 or $200, we would love your help. You can schedule your donation today.

Thank you for your support!  And don’t forget to like, share, and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

Adaptive Camps Scholarships!

Exceptional Georgetown Alliance, in partnership with Georgetown Parks and Recreation, is once again offering adaptive summer camps!  We offer two camps, Let’s Make Friends (ages 5-11), and Circle of Friends (ages 11-22).  Each camp offers GISD students with special needs the opportunity to maintain and gain new skills while having fun and making friends!

We are now accepting scholarship applications for summer 2016 adaptive camps!  EGA is offering adaptive camp scholarships which are available on a first come, first serve basis.  Certain criteria applies.  Applications are due no later than March 18th.  We have a limited number of scholarships to give out and can not guarantee you will receive all of the weeks you request.

You can drop off filled out and signed applications at Georgetown Parks and Rec on Austin Ave, or scan and email  back to exceptionalgeorgetown@gmail.com.  You must do this before March 18th for consideration.

The Boo Run Has Been Cancelled

2015BoorunLogo

When we said The Boo Run will happen rain or shine, we didn’t realize the rains we were in store for!  San Gabriel Park, the site of The Boo Run, has been closed due to safety concerns.  We do not know when it will re-open.  Right now, bridges at the park are under water, debris is dangerously strewn about, and we can not say that our racers will run without incurring injury.  We are very sad to announce that the 2015 Boo Run is cancelled.  Please stay tuned for further updates or email us at exceptionalgeorgetown@gmail.com.

Stay safe and have a Happy Halloween!!
